Sew curtains: here is a little tutorial to show how we have made curtains made from a flat sheet. It might have been not really simple and Took Practically no time to us! We fell in love in green inspired this fun, Specially for this time of year. The best part is, thesis were from a EUR 10 set made from bed sheets and we have to use more fabric leftover for our kitchen window treatment!
1 flat bed sheet, full-size
sewing machine and thread (or to iron and hem band)
2 “wide white ribbon
sew curtains: fold your flat bed sheet in half length wise designed and cut along the crease. You get 2 panels did jeweils as long as the original sheets.
If your panel long enough did-you-can fold over the edge, you see here, to create a pocket for your curtain rod. We had not enough length to do that, but maybe we can make it.
Iron Both panels. Then fold twice over the edge, theyhave just cut and iron flat.
This is the edge to sew to protect the fabric from fraying.
If you not wanna sew, you can iron the hem so down with hem tape.
Cut 6 strips of your band, about 3, 5 “long, and place them evenly over the top of your panel.
These are the tabs for the back of the curtain. You may need more or less DEPENDING ON how far is your curtain. You can make your strip of tape longer DEPENDING ON how thick is your curtain rod.
With a hot glue, glue the top and bottom side of the strip to the panel.
We decided to glue the bottom of the ribbon strip 3 to make them a bit convoluted vertically from the top of the strip.
